Texas-based band Thunder Horse has a genre that is hard to pin down, but there are definitely Doom, Psych, Occult and Classic Rock and Blues influences. Close your eyes and imagine the brooding sounds of early Sabbath, the massive wall of guitars made famous by bands like Deep Purple and Mountain, on a sonically mesmerizing Pink Floyd Trip, and then you will have a taste of the experience that Thunder Horse brings.
Taking a DIY approach, Thunder Horse released their self titled debut album to glowing press reviews such as, “Thunder Horse pulls the listener quickly toward dark atmospheres and flourishes amid the weighted tones therein.” The Obelisk (2018). Their debut album, Thunder Horse, Made the top 20 Doom Charts three months in a row, peaking at #12 on the December 2018 Doom charts and #63 on the top 100 Doom Chart albums. Their live shows have also included video projections and quadraphonic sound harkening back to the heyday of 70’s classic rock shows. Thunder Horse is a Must See both sonically and visually.
Original lineup intact, Thunder Horse are back with their 2nd full length album “Chosen One.” Based on the success of the first album, Thunder Horse once again is featuring original art work by Pig Hands, mix\ing by Caleb Bingham at Nightmare sound, and mastering by Joe Bozzi at Bernie Grundman Mastering Hollywood, CA. Chosen One is epic musical journey that expands their musical catalog by experimenting with different sounds and influences. An interesting note is that this album was completed while socially distanced during the Covid Pandemic of 2020!
